The Nubra valley, which is one of the remotest places in the Indian Himalayan belt, is a high altitude cold desert with scant vegetation except along the river beds. The valley is formed by the confluence of River Shyok and River Nubra and is accessible from Khardung La, which is one of the highest motorable roads in the world that lies at an elevation of 5,360 meters. Passing through Khardung La, which is world’s highest motorable road, the Nubra Valley Trek breaks open to a beautiful topography that was once was a part of a trade route between India, Tibet and Central Asia
Route : Leh – Phyang Phu – Lasermo La – Nubra-Hunder Doc – Skarchen – Khardung La – leh
Day 1 : Leh arrival (Delhi to Leh, it takes only two hours by flight) in the morning and check into Hotel
Leh is at an altitude of 3500mts.All the guests are advised to rest entire day. A successful trek in Ladakh requires visitors to acclimatize well.
Day 2 : Sightseein of Leh
Local sightseeing to the ancient palace of Leh which houses relics that belong to the sixteenth century rular of Ladakh, which was built by the King Singhe Namgyal in 1600, there after we visit two of the major gompas Shey, Thiksey and Hemis monasteries.
Day 3 : Drive to Phyang then trek to Phyang Phu.
This day will be the first day of the trek. Though it will be the short day regareding walking, rather, it will be a good day for acclimatization. It will take approximate 3 to 4 hrs to reach upto camp site.
Day 4 : Trek to South base camp of Lasermo La.
It will take 4 to 5 hrs to reach upto base camp and we will be approximate 4750 m height.
Day 5 : Trek to Norht base camp via Lasermo La.
This morning we wil have to cross the pas Lasermo la as early as possible. The approximate height is 5450m and it will take apprx. 6 to 7 hours to reach camp site. At this height one can explore beautiful meadows and flowers growing at such high altitude.
Day 6 : Trek to Hunder Dok.
Today we will walk down and follow Hunder stream through beautiful flowers, meadows, and rocky terrain. Then we will pass through Shepherds huts. It wil take 5 to 6 hrs to reach Camp site.
Day 7 : Trek to Skarchen.
This trek passes through the villages of Doc Gongma, Doc Yokma and Wachan. It will take 4 to 5 hours to reach to camp site.
Day 8 : Trek to Hundar.
Today will be the last day of the trek goes through beautiful Hunder Gorge, which opens up just before descending to Hunder Bridge. From this point one can have a beautiful view of Paek Saser Kangri (7672m), which is the one of the heighst peak of Ladakh. It will take 3 to4 hrs to reach Hunder.
Day 9 : Trek to Disket and Sumoor.
Today will be the last day to explore the area Bactrian Camel Riding in the Hunder Dunes. One can visit Diskit monastery and drive up the Nubra river to Sumoorand visit Samtanling Gompa.
Day 10 : Drive back to Leh Via Khardung La.
This is the world’s heighest motorable road. Its height is 5350m. Overnight stay will be at Leh.
Day 11 : Departure in the morning after early breakfast.
